Do you believe in keepsakes? I’m not really superstitious, but I do believe in them. The Miriam Webster Dictionary states that it’s, “something that you keep to help you remember a person, place, or event: a memento or souvenir.” In my instance my special four-leaf clover charm (which I’m currently wearing) acts as a gentle reminder to first breathe, take a moment and smile.

Sometimes I have down days just like everybody else. It all began not so long ago when the extreme busyness of my life (wedding planning, 24/7 job, overseas expansion, work travels) all started to impact my stress and wellbeing levels. I would get so wound up in this busyness that I forgot that I was running on adrenalin. It’s this adrenalin that is so bad for the body that sent my body into overload. I started to forget things, gain weight, I got problem skin, mood swings, I never had the time to workout or cook, nor give quality time to my husband, home-life and friends and just overall forgot the daily things in life that I SHOULD be taking the time to enjoy. Feelings of tiredness would always engulf me and it’s these feelings that would make me panic because (as it all went around in a circle) I always needed more time to get things done. But it never occurred what I was doing! I got so wound up in it all and just kept powering through it like I thought I should be doing.

That’s when I decided to re-evaluate and nip it in the bud before it got out of hand (I used to have an anxiety disorder). I needed something that would remind every day (not just my husband telling me). It was then that I found the four leaf clover keepsakes (Heart4Heart Rings and earrings from Folli Follie in the Strand Arcade, Sydney). Whenever I start to panic and get tired, all I have to do is look down at my ring and remember why I always wear it. To stop, be in the moment, breathe and smile. And it’s this keepsake that’s got my health and mind back on track where it should be.

If you’re having troubles like I did, maybe it’s time for you to re-evaluate your life. Are you taking on too much work? Is it worth it? What’s more important..your health and wellbeing and family or your work? These are all important questions that you should be asking yourself to make a difference. I did and even though no one can really tell you what to do (cause you always think you’re right), always picture yourself on the outside and look into your life and how you live. Sometimes stepping back and evaluating can put everything into perspective for you. Because at the end of the day, when you step back you’ll realise that your health is your greatest wealth!

PS- In case you’re wondering, I got my Heart4Heart (four-leaf clover) collection from Folli Follie in QVB Sydney +61 (2) 9267 2055, or you can get from here
